George Soros convicted of illegal insider trading

"George Soros, the US financier and philanthropist, was today convicted of insider trading by a Parisian court and ordered to pay a 2.2 million euro (£1.4 million) fine. The 72-year-old billionaire went on trial in Paris last month, accused of using privileged information to speculate on the share price of Société Générale, the French banking giant, during a failed takeover bid in 1988."
